Since we have experience sharing information through the internet via webinars, we would like to offer a free 1-hour webinar to the public. In this webinar we will cover:
~ What is the Transition Initiative?
~ What is it a response to?
     ~ How does it work?
     ~ What will it do?
~ How may one get involved?

Following the webinar we will open things up for chat or sharing of information that is of interest to the group. You will be able to speak live to whoever is on the line or use the text-chat feature. We will also use this time to assist folks in the same areas to connect with each other.

To Participate
Click the link in the box above, send in the email, and we will reply with all of the information you will need to access the webinar portal for free. We use Skype as our main communication tool but you may also use your home phone. You just need a computer hooked to the internet to view the slide presentation. Even this is optional, but nice to have.

Hosting Your Own Webinars
With the technology available today, there are several ways that people can get together to share information or stories without everyone having to travel. We use two of these methods in our permaculture education business with great success and relative ease. Milton Dixon can teach others how to use these technologies as we explore the Transition Towns movement.

Option 1:
Home Meeting, Presentations and Gatherings you Host.

Webinar Screen

Just as we are doing by hosting our free webinars, you can set-up the same services through your computer(s) to be able to do the same thing with your own group(s).

Milton charges a reasonable fee to get you set up but if your groups remain relatively small the internet service is free.We (Midwest Permaculture) pay a fee to be able to get larger groups into our webinars.

If you would like to know more about what this is and how it works, join us for our free webinars noted above.

Option 2:
Meeting, Presentations and Gatherings we Host

Bill and Becky are available to host meetings and presentations from our own home to your gathering. Before your group meets, we establish an internet connection where you can hear everything we are saying through your computer while also seeing us on the screen. If you have a small group, everyone can circle around a single computer screen. For larger groups, all that is needed is a digital projector and our image can be projected on to a wall or large screen. We also project pictures and illustrations for detailed presentations.

Key Point
What we think is important about using the internet for communicating is that there is a way of using something that already exists that can save all of us time and money while at the same time reducing the amount of travel and fuel we each use.

Using this technology takes a bit of time to get used to but after you start to use it you start to wonder why we haven't been using it all along. What we have been amazed by is how close or connected we can become over the internet, creating a real sense of community in just a short time. There is a quick learning curve to get started but it is a small price to pay for increased effectiveness in learning and communication.
